Protect Every Child
Every child has the right to safety, dignity, and respect.
Loading
Every child deserves to learn, grow, and participate in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. At RISE Values Youth Initiative, safeguarding is not an additional programme. It is the foundation of everything we do.
Our commitment
Our commitment is to ensure that every interaction with children promotes dignity, protection, respect, and accountability.
Child safeguarding refers to the policies, practices, and culture that prevent harm to children and ensure that any concerns are identified, reported, and addressed appropriately.
RISE adopts a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, exploitation, neglect, discrimination, harassment, or any behaviour that compromises the safety and wellbeing of children.
Principles
Six commitments guide how RISE designs programmes, trains adults, and partners with schools.
Every child has the right to safety, dignity, and respect.
We identify risks before they become incidents.
Children’s voices matter and are taken seriously.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
Every staff member and volunteer follows clear standards.
We regularly review and strengthen our safeguarding systems.
How we protect children
Safeguarding is embedded from recruitment through delivery and ongoing monitoring.
Careful selection and screening of adults who work with or around children.
Safeguarding induction and refreshers for staff, facilitators, and school focal leads.
Clear behavioural standards for every adult in RISE contexts.
Programme and venue risks reviewed before activities begin.
Protective practice upheld in classrooms, events, and online spaces.
Accessible pathways for raising concerns without delay.
Timely assessment, referral where required, and child-centred action.
Review, learning, and strengthening of systems over time.
Reporting concerns
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. For RISE-related concerns, follow this pathway.
Prioritise the child’s safety and wellbeing without delay.
Share what you know through the designated reporting channel.
The concern is received and logged by the safeguarding lead.
Information is reviewed to determine next steps.
External authorities or services are engaged when needed.
Actions are tracked and learning informs future practice.
